Advice On Completing A Project Before The Holidays
Every year there are a number of customers the want to refurbish their homes before the holidays or another major event.
The key thing to remember is that the farther out you plan, the less likely you will be disappointed. For a room of middle-grade carpet in beige, it’s true that it will likely ship the day after it’s ordered and can usually be installed the next week. However, if you are buying a higher-end product, an unusual color or a large order that needs to be from the same dye lot then there is a chance your material is going to be made to order. In fact, there are some manufactures that sell only made-to-order material.
This is true of other decorating elements in your home. Furniture can typically have a twelve to sixteen week lead-time, as well as drapes and window treatments that are often custom made, requiring long lead times.
So while it’s not impossible to paint while your turkey is in the oven and get a good result, some planning will be needed if you want someone to do the painting for you. The Holidays are also a busy time of the year those in the trades like painters, contractors or any installation-type business. Tradesmen’s schedules as well as lead-time of materials need to be factored when deciding on getting a project done before the Holidays.
